New Jersey Air Conditioning | Filters
Routinely replacing and cleaning your air conditioning filters is the most important maintenance task that will ensure the efficiency of your air conditioning unit. Normal air flow and significantly reduced system efficiency can be caused by clogged and dirty filters. With the normal airflow obstructed, the air that overshoots the filter can carry dirt straight to the evaporator coil which will impair the coil's heat-absorbing capacity.
Some filters have to be replaced but other types of filters are reusable. Cleaning or replacing your air conditioning filters every month or two during the cooling season will go a long way to keeping your system running efficiently. However, your filters may need more frequent attention if it is in constant use, subjected to dusty conditions, or you have fur-bearing pets in the house. It is wise to keep several spare filters in the house if you use a disposable type filter.
